Restoring History
Boothbay Harbor Shipyard shipwrights work on restoring the schooner Ernestina in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. The Ernestina-Morrissey was built in 1894 in Gloucester, MA and fished the North Atlantic for eleven years before being used for Artic exploration. Later the schooner brought immigrants to the United States from Cape Verde. The Ernestina is currently undergoing a $6 million restoration project. PHOTOS PETER PEREIRA
