Immigrants, legal and illegal alike, who still have family back home queue up at the Central Food Market in the south end of New Bedford to send remittances back to their native countries. A routine that for some is a weekly task, helps loved ones back home. World Bank estimates that in 2006 some $250 billion dollars was remitted globally and have increased by almost 30% annually.
