Jerry Racine, chemical processor 18 years, makes his way to his car with the computer he purchased from the plant. Inside some posterboards featuring the ID cards of all those who worked at the plant can be seen in the cafeteria. The Polaroid MultiLayer Coating Technologies plan in the industrial park in the north end of New Bedford closed today after being opened since the early 70's. After many attempts to find new buyers the plant was forced to lay off 110 of its 176 workers today. Another 50 will be let go next month and the rest at the end of the year.
