Mike Macedo prepares the wood of the bowsprit with a fine grit sandpaper for varnish as other employees work on another boat in the background. Employees of the F. L. Tripp & Sons shipyard in Westport are hard at work over the winter months making all sort of repairs to various types of boats in a rush to get ready for the Spring when owners will want their boats in the water.
