4th graders Sarah Smialek, 10, and Olivia Chesney, 9, share an afghan made by Afghans for the Homeless. Diane Mendes was a guest reader at the Quinn school in Dartmouth, MA. Mrs. Mendes is a member of the Afghans for the Homeless organization and after reading a book entitled 'The Quilt Makers Gift' she showed some of the afghans that her group of volunteers have made to donate to the homeless. Last year Afghans for the Homeless donated over 260 afghans to various local homeless sheters. This week the school had a series of guest readers read to different classes.
