Looking from her homes window an emotional Francis Frates can barely stand the sight of the demolition of the funeral home beind demolished that she and her husband owned and had been in the family since it was built in 1908. New Bedford DPI crews demolish the old Frates Funeral Home on County St. in the south end of New Bedford. The building which dates back to 1908 came under the wrecking ball after owner Michael DaSilveira failed to repair the building after a fire tore through the building in June. The owner purchased the building 4 years ago and never repaired the property.
