New Bedford police officer Jeffrey Silva inspects a Chinese assault rifle with a bayonet. Over 150 weapons lie on tables at the New Bedford police station on Rockdale Ave. The weapons were collected during Sunday's gun exchange program that was hosted at a series of local churches. Every person who turned in a working firearm received a gift card in the amount of $100 (grocery store) as well as a gift certificate for a large pizza at Domino's Pizza. Over $11,000 was paid out in gift cards.
