Seventy-one years ago, Paul Soucy of Acushnet was wounded in battle during World War II. Following his discharge in April 1946, he was notified he would be receiving various medals, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. But they never came and he got busy with life, raising a family and starting a job as a New Bedford police officer. In 2012, at the urging of his son, he wrote the military and only recently received his medals.
