Under an ominous sky, Deputy Shellfish Warden, Megan Coito, hoists the yellow flag on East Rodney French Boulevard in the south end of New Bedford, MA, signifying that shell fishing in Clarkes Cove is permitted once again. Because of constant rain, this is the first time this month that shell fishing has been permitted due to the 5 day grace period between the last heavy rainfall and when shellfishing is permitted once again.
