After a series of severe personnel and budget cuts, Manny Silva finds himself the sole caretaker of the Schooner Ernestina. With a huge list of things to complete, Mr. Silva sands the fore ship decking in preparation for the opening of the ship in May. The 19th century schooner, which is part of the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, fished in the North Atlantic for codfish before being used to carry immigrants from Cape Verde to America.
